PROGRAMME FORGE

About us

The programme Forge is the oldest of Unior’s programmes and is the base from which the Unior of today developed. We exclusively supply the most demanding forged parts (high safety requirements) to top-quality manufacturers from the automotive industry. Development, quality and increasingly higher productivity are the basic guiding principles for further development of the Forge programme, which Unior continues to modernise by means of new investments.

More than three quarters of this programme’s production are intended for the automotive industry, with other forged parts going to various other programmes and own production of hand tools. For the needs of the automotive industry, Unior produces various forged parts for the automotive industry with a special position being held by those influencing safety. The basic activity of the production programme is the drop forging of steel complemented by machine processing of forged parts.

Our core business is comprised of the following product groups:
  • Connecting rods for personal car engines
  • Forged parts for housings and parts of the steering mechanism
  • Forged parts for own hand tools production
  • Various forged parts for the needs of the automotive industry
  • Processing of all types of forged parts for the needs of the automotive industry and other clients

With a monthly capacity of 1,800 tons of forged parts, our company is ranked among the largest European forges.

An annual production of around 6,5 million connecting rods and 25 million housings makes us an important supplier of the automotive industry.

Our production currently employs around 780 people on two locations - in Zreče and in Slovenske Konjice. To this, we can also add the employees of the recently acquired forge in Croatia and in our joint venture company, the Unior Ningbo in China, which however manufactures products only for the Chinese market.

Turnover of the Forge programme for 2008 was EUR 60 million.
